The Asian American Cultural provides leadership, program planning, and educational experience to learn more about Asian Pacific Islander Desi issues through the Senior and Junior Internship. It’s an amazing program to be a part of!
Senior Interns
Senior Interns spearhead the program by creating program itineraries for PALNY, APIDA Heritage Month, and APIDA Gala. This internship is a paid opportunity. Interns work 10 hours a week for one full school year. Senior Interns are in charge of contacting vendors, ordering food, reaching out to clubs for performance, handling technical issues, and more the Senior Interns do it all. They also provide mentorship and support to the Junior Interns about program planning. Senior Interns promote the center by creating graphics and posting on social media. Senior interns are truly a pillar for the AACC.
In order to be a senior intern, you must go through the junior internship program. You must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior to apply.
Junior Interns
The Junior internship is a 1.5 credit class along with the program experience, where you will explore APIDA issues. Interns will have the opportunity to showcase their identity and what they’ve learned throughout the semester in our annual Junior Art Gallery. Junior Interns also shadow Senior Interns and will learn what it takes to be a program coordinator. The Junior Internship IS NOT a paid opportunity but students will earn 1.5 credits. Junior Interns also have the opportunity to become Senior Interns for the next school year.
